Purple Pride

We finally got to go to our very first Kstate football game,we were thrilled! We'd been wanting to go for quite some time now and it never worked out. Emma was just too tiny last year to go. Todds dad asked us so we didn't hesitate to say yes! It was a beautiful day,in fact it was pretty hot for a football game!

Thankfully the won (barely) and we had a blast! We left at 10am and we weren't back until almost 11 that night,it was a long day no doubt. Full of tailgating,grilling,yelling and cheering..good times! :)

Ok onto the game!!



The mascot is Tanners favorite part of the game,he loves "Willie"! He talks about him for days after seeing a game (yes Tanner has been to more games than we have lol)


We actually knew several people sitting down on the 6th row (we were on the 36th row) so while Paul was chatting with them I figured that was permission to try and snap some close-ups ;)


I LOVE this pictures,I was pleasantly surprised that it came out this good! I was SO close to him and had my zoom so I had to lean back to get this picture and look up,but it turned out well..plus he kept hiding from me but I caught him entranced in the game long enough to snap this one :)

It was a great day..Emma had fun with grandma while we were gone so that was nice!
Ok I'm tired and I had packing to do tomorrow for my scrapbooking trip,I leave thursday and I can't wait!! I'm going to miss my baby so much though ::::sniff::::: I've never been away from her for even one night yet! She'll be fine. She is such a daddys girl,in fact she prefers him over me..maybe I'll get lucky and she'll be sick of him by the time I get back and love me again? I can hope right?
Ok if I don't post before tomorrow I will be back Monday..hopefully relaxed and refreshed!!

A fish tale

It's not one of those fish tales ;)

It was another beautiful evening,we've had the most wonderful fall ever! I don't think we've had the air or heat on for weeks now,I'm going to miss it when it's gone! It's been so still the last few nights and not a cloud in the sky..perfect outdoor weather!

Paul and Tanner decided to go fishing across the road so Emma and I followed..camera in tow of course ;)

She wasn't the most agreeable,not sure what was going on but I still managed to get away with a few decent shots. I had fun editing some of them,gosh that could get addictive I think! lol
I'm tired,it's been a long day. Had to see the doc. about my sore finger which I felt silly about.It's horrible swollen but not really sore. Bad thing is that I think it's from too much picture taking,this camera isn't exactly light and I think when I was holding it to see the pics in the LCD screen I was holding it wrong. First sign you are taking too many pics : You finger swells up twice it's normal size..LOL!

I had to get emmas things all packed up this evening to stay at Grandmas all day tomorrow. Paul,Tanner and I are going to the Kstate football game with Todds dad,it's our first game! We've had offers before but it never worked out and the weather is going to be just like today,I'm so excited!! It will be nice to do something with just Tanner,it's not often that happens anymore.

Here are fishing pictures..Emma was so curious about the fish and actually kept wanting to touch them! I was a little surprised. Tanner caught the most,I think he said he got 9,not too bad!

I love love love this picture. She's clapping as Paul just caught a fish and I love how the house is in the background. When I took it I never thought it was going to turn out this nice!





Paul laughed when he saw I took pictures of "Weeds" ,but I pointed out to him that anything can be beautiful and more often than not it's the everyday things that we don't think twice about that can sometimes look the most beautiful and have some of the neatest detail :)

I had fun editing this one..can you tell? I hope I didn't overdue the colors,it's all so new to me yet!

My little man

Well he's not so little anymore. He's 9 1/2 years old now! I can't believe in six short months he'll be 10. WOW. Where did the time go? Feels like yesterday I just brought him home from the hospital,now he's in 4th grade.
Maybe thats why I started to have a passion for photography,just realizing how fast time flies made me want to preserve every memory I could.

He wasn't very willing to cater to my obsession last night,but I drug him along anyway. I really have been wanting to work on composition,lighting and getting the coloring right and working on anything other than a person just doesn't cut it! Plus it's been a long time since I took him out and took nice photos of him. It was a gorgeous evening and it's ridiculous not to take advantage of the beautiful pictures you can get living where we do..I'm happy with how most turned out. There are a few that are a little 'warm' and I have some color casts on a couple ,otherwise I was happy! I still have a LOT to learn though..slowly but surely right?lol

Tanner use to love to get his picture taken,he's say "Mom,takea picture of me!" everytime he was doing something funny or cute..now? He gives me goofy smiles or dirty looks when I want his picture. Plus it doesn't help he's at that akward stage where he's still pretty skinny and all teeth,so that doesn't help trying to get a decent picture. It's usually him giving me some goofy smile and all you see is TEETH!






Can you tell he's wanting me to be done? lol The bugs were swarming around him and he wanted to get up from this spot.lol
